I wasn't expecting much from this place, but I was blown away. The food is absolutely delicious and the drinks are not weak. Jimmy's on the Pier is actually within walking distance of some of the hotels which made it first choice. I only regret not coming here sooner. Just a side note: you will have feathered friends visit you in the restaurant. It was absolutely not an issue for us.
Visited Galveston for one day before a cruise and decided to eat here after not being too happy with another place we'd gone to. Here at Jimmy's, the service was very good, the food affordable and delicious! On top of that a fantastic view of the sea!!! I had the ceviche while my husband had the shrimp tacos, both very good!
Located in the west end of Galveston, Jimmy's is worth checking out. The restaurant offer great views of the bay and is great for people watching. Alejandro was a wonderful server, attentive without being pushed. I had the shrimp tacos - 2 blackened and one grilled. They were good, however I would have liked a bit more tang with the slaw topping. The fries were seasoned and crispy. Overall, the food was OK. The chill and relaxed atmosphere along with the views pushed it to 5 stars. Kids are welcome - just be prepared for a louder noise level. Also, the bar stools all had backs even at the high tops and bar - that is important me. But they are a hard plastic metal mesh - so prepare to have those bare legs and backs mesh marked for a bit. They are comfortable.
The total highlight of our Galveston trip! Seriously, we can't recommend Jimmy's more. The food was phenomenal and very well priced for Galveston! The kids meals are all 10 bucks and each entree was between 15 and 20 that we looked at ordering. The flounder was tender and juicy, and we all left extremely satisfied! I definitely recommend the fish tacos. They are doubled cased in tortillas to preserve the sauce and flavorful. The Texas Fish and Chips was also delicious (a lot of fried on top of fried, but that is what I ordered so that's on me). They were out of waffle fries which was very disappointing, but the onion rings were honestly a great substitute! Double the onion in each ring and very well battered. The seating is perfect - covered from the sun, but with tons of windows and doors to let the cool ocean breeze blow in as you enjoy your meal. Amazing! Plus, the opportunity to walk the pier for free after made it even better! We got our Christmas Card photo on the pier! Seriously, make this place a PRIORITY when visiting Galveston! We will be back next family vacation!!
This is the first time we come to this restaurant, and we are very satisfied. I want to increase that word satisfied by ten and call it extremely happy. The meal was so good and the service was so perfect. I'm coming back and i'm gonna bring on my friends with me next time. Ask for Carlos. He did a great job. With a great attitude, everyone had great service and great attitudes. I LOVE THIS PLACE.
We ate at Jimmy's on the Pier last night for dinner and it was delicious! Gulf shrimp, grilled chicken sandwich and a hamburger with all the toppings were on our table. Everything was cooked to perfection! The view was spectacular and the breeze hit just right. I would highly recommend Jimmy's on the Pier.
We had there tuna tartar was absolutely amazing and I am not a raw fish person. Flavor was so good. Our waiter Alex was very nice served us quickly and with a smile. The view was breathtaking. Will definitely be back on our next visit.
I loved everything, the view is fantastic. I ordered the hamberger and fish dish. OMG, with this view and taste of fish, I just felt in heaven. Vicki served us and she was great. Thank you :)
